Excellent. And deep.

"we are not separate from nature—we are nature remembering itself."

About six months ago, I switched to raw honey as the ‘sweetener’ to my coffee. Love it! Now, having read this article, I love it even more. Thanks!

Honey is given to us by God with all its healing properties. Creation is a little over 6,000 years.

And please, please do not spray herbicides or other chemicals in your yards. Neighbor/HOA permitting, let your 'weeds' grow. Each plant flowers at different times and provides food for all types of bees. Unfortunately each year I see less and less bees, insects, and birds.

Beautiful profound article Sayer. I eat at least a teaspoon of raw local unfiltered honey every day. Thank you, I understand more the enter workings between nature and man. Now, if we can just get the chemical pesticides, herbicides and fungicides out of our environment, we could stop this man made destruction of our precious honey bees.

I have heard that raw honey needs to be in in its natural form (not dissolved in order to be beneficial. What do you know about this?

Honey is nature, it is the nectar of the Universe. I can't live happily without it. I am so happy to see an article about honey like this. Because it is so AWESOME.

What a beautifully written article! Heartfelt connection to the topic. My eating has changed from what I was exposed to growing up in my family. This superb article fills a gap in how i have, and now will, approach food from now on. Thank You!

As many here have stated, honey is truly an awesome product. The Creator of all living organisms, which we describe as nature, describes the most desirable place for man to live as “a land flowing with milk and honey”. God is not known to use His words haphazardly.

I have a loving friend who uses bee products daily, which include not only honey but also propolis and royal jelly. He is now in his nineties, and still going strong by working regularly in the field of diesel mechanics. I’ve never known him to be sick.

As you have stated Sayer, the health benefits of honey deserve further investigation and exposure so more of us can reap the benefits.

Sayer, this is a beautiful article, and from the anthropology perspective, absolutely true! I used to cry walking through grocery stores seeing all the shelves of honey destroyed by heating, undoing the secret life within. I see a lot of recovery and reverence towards honey coming forward. I will add that traditional practices show that honey is one of our great hydration shortcuts, making anything you put it in more hydrating. And it’s superb, likely unmatched as a skin hydrator and protector. Apply, scrub and quickly rinse off and you’ve sealed yourself in a humectant and microbial veil. Honey we love you!
