An ancient fermented food rivals — and in key respects outperforms — the pharmaceutical drugs sold for bone loss, and a growing body of human clinical evidence now backs up what the original animal data suggested.
All bone drugs are poisons. They have never helped my wife and even made some bones weaker. Big pharma can go to the devil and take the evil doctors that buy into this bone drug crap with them.
I had a doctor put me on fosamax and I stopped on the third day because it felt like my skeleton was on fire. But I have moved from sea level to 8000 ft above sea level and hike every morning for a few miles. My last bone scan showed that my long bones were extremely strong. Weight bearing exercise builds bone. Also I drink kifer daily and that repairs bone.
Excellent information! I refuse to get another DEXA scan because there is not point....I would not take any of the drugs that supposedly cure the problem (due to their bad effects). Is this available to buy somewhere, and if so, where? Thank you....I enjoy your articles!
That's a very good post, Thank You! That's what GreenMedInfo was always about;) Helping out, in particular NOW, when something really strange is happening with many affected by the covid genetically modifying jabs. It is about BONES, all of them, including teeth, in my opinion...
You can make your own chickpea natto by going to an Asian grocer and getting a soy-based one, and take a small amount to create your batch of fermented chickpeas.
The CardioNK which doubles as a gut-support product (pre-,pro- and post-biotic) contains in 2 capsules the same amount of nattokinase as about 1-3 pounds of natto. So, if you don't enjoy natto's taste and texture, the formula was designed for convenience. It also has vegan grade capsules that breakdown after getting through the stomach acid barrier, so it gets to the small intestine for optimal absorption.
did I understand that correctly? Two capsules contain nattokinase as 1-3 lbs. of chickpea natto? Wouldn't the two capsules contain way more K27 as far as the blood side effects?
Good question! Legumes have their own problems; although fermented legumes are qualitatively and quantitatively different than their non-fermented counterparts. Thankfully, there are hundreds of food-based alternatives that are amazing: https://greenmedinfo.com/category/disease/osteoporosis
And I love strength training, in any form, even if only for a few minutes a day!
That's a great topic. I'm a fan, with the caveat that one must support endogenous production within essential co-factors (e.g. methylated B complex) and naturally detoxifying compounds (e.g. sulforphane), in order to make sure you are clearing excess hormone metabolites.
But HRT relative to synthetic or horse-derived hormones are an excellent alternative, even if just for a window to normalize hormone levels.s
Dear Sayer, over 20 years ago I was diagnosed with osteopenia and prescribed Boniva. I took Boniva exactly as prescribed and experienced severe esophageal burning after a few months, so I quit taking it. A few years later I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and my doctor recommended Prolia injections twice a year, which I've been taking since 2012. I'd like to stop the injections (due to serious side effects) but have been told they cannot be discontinued. Could I begin taking CardioNK and eliminate the injections in a year or two?

Thank you very much, Sayer. I have questioned "bone-building" medications for years. Based on what I've read, they do not create new bone, they simply cause old bone to be retained. In my mind, old bone doesn't equal healthy/strong bone.
In 2012 I was also diagnosed with estrogen positive breast cancer and had a lumpectomy followed by radiation and 5 years of Arimidex (which resulted in more bone loss). I am now 68 years old, have become much more aware of serious side effects associated with prescription medications, and am losing confidence in my doctors (that I thought I could trust). I have been experiencing intense itching for years and am suspecting the Prolia, and after reading the article you provided I am inclined to discontinue the Prolia injections and take my chances.
Thank you again, I am grateful for you and GreenMedInfo and appreciate anything more you are able to share.
Excellent assessment looking at multiple sides of the issue. Quick question: what amount of biochanin A (and hence of the CardioNK) would equate to the 54mg/day dose of genistein that appears to be most bio-effective?
The honest answer is we don't know. We haven't run a biochanin A assay on the finished product (yet), and the reality is that the best source of this compound is from fermented foods themselves, or, red clover, which is historically used to address hormone insufficiency from estrogen deficiency symptoms, e.g. hot flash.
My approach would be truly holistic, and instead of looking for singular ingredients, create an overarching bone-strengthening approach. You've encouraged me to write an article that covers these topics extensively! Give me a little time, but I will get it done. : )
Dude! I expected to get deep into your article and find a recipe for making mine from chickpeas, not a product. Others may want to just order it for ease, but I'm broke. Can you tell me how much of the fermented chickpeas to consume per day to get the benefit those studies had? I'm 66 soon and 5'3" and 113 lbs. Osteopenia at last DEXA. I am Irish, tiny-boned, and work inside. I go out in the mornings in the light. I take D3 w/K3, Citracal, magnesium, and "The Liver Doctor's" Bone Builder supplement (just started that). She's out of New Zealand and Phoenix and her other supps are fabulous.
What's with the recent mainstream push towards HRT and the claim that the research didn't really show that it was responsible for a greater risk of heart disease after all? I am seeing people putting forth the argument that precautions against it were just anti-women and denying them the "treatment they really needed," but I'm not convinced.
I've now read that the highest content of genistein is in the red blossom of red clover. Can I therefore deduce that raw milk from pasture grazing cows is likely to supply with the right building blocks for strong bones?

Fosamax began as an industrial solvent for scaling in agricultural piping.

DEXA scans as a 'preventive' diagnostic strategy are one of modern medicine's greatest follies: https://greenmedinfo.com/blog/osteoporosis-myth-dangers-high-bone-mineral-density
I will not take a pharma drug for osteoporosis. I am requesting exercise & diet programs in accordance with to age.

Is CardioNK best taken on an empty stomach?
Yes. Although it is designed to survive digestion, as the capsule dissolves in the small intestine.
Is eating chickpea natto an alternative to the supplement? Looks like it is easy to make. And if so, what would be a serving size to aim for?

I hope that helps! You can learn more here: https://regeneratecompany.com/products/cardionk?utm_source=substack
we'd need to eat 1-3 pounds per day???

What to do when you can tolerate neither soy nor chickpeas?

The article talks about traditional hrt. What about bio identical hrt especially administered transdermally avoiding the liver?
That's a great topic. I'm a fan, with the caveat that one must support endogenous production within essential co-factors (e.g. methylated B complex) and naturally detoxifying compounds (e.g. sulforphane), in order to make sure you are clearing excess hormone metabolites.

I'm also interested in the bone strengthening effects of bio identical hormones on bones in the long term.
Are bio-identical hormones literally something tailor made for each person?

Dear Amy,
I'm truly sorry to hear what happened to you. I would encourage you to start back from square one, and read this first: https://greenmedinfo.com/blog/osteoporosis-myth-dangers-high-bone-mineral-density
Osteopenia is an archetypal example of misdiagnosis/overdiagnosis.
Once you metabolize that, let me know. I can't and won't give medical advice, but I have some more to share.

Doesn't ship to Canada.
We wish we could, but they make it next to impossible, at this stage.

Weight bearing exercises are beneficial as well .
