I have always found pomegranates so fascinating, from a nutritional standpoint, in the way they look, and even the connection it's said to have to even the concept of fertility. Throughout my own heath journey, and with many female clients now coming to me with the same issues continuously, I've started to dig further into the research of estrogen dominance and/or very low progesterone. It seems due to the high amounts of phytoestrogens that are already consumed (soy, flax, lavender, ashwagandha, the list goes on) that we in fact most likely do not need *more* estrogen or estrone. And the reason peri/menopause symptoms are near debilitating for most women, the cause of estrogen could be a main factor in it. I'm curious on your thoughts if women (or men) really need more estrogen or should be mindful of consuming things like pomegranate that are highly phytoestrogenic in nature? Even stripping out the concept of phytoestrogens, knowing low progesterone is highly common amongst women, how would more estrone, with low progesterone levels to begin with, be supportive for fertility? Truly curious on your thoughts! Appreciate all the info included here though, very interesting,
Pomegranates are hard to come by where I live, only in season for a short while. There are juices available but fairly expensive. I have seen organic, freeze dried powder that claims to contain the rind, pith, and arils that is more economically feasible for me. Would you expect these powders to have the same beneficial effects?
I’ve been trying to join,”GreenMedInfo” however, the plan doesn’t populate to the cart, I’ve tried all the plans and none work! Hope this is repaired so I can sign up to access your incredible research!! 💙
What about those in perimenopausal years who went from being estrogen dominant, to completely deficient overnight after having uterine fibroids and ovaries removed? TRAUMATIC!
Had me laughing - as the chief curiosity before being sinpered at 2007 on Bosnian Serb border was the plethora of pomegranite carvings hanging on so many fences ,homes - in Bosnia .
No one answered it sufficiently before ,SJ !
''The relationship between flowering plants (angiosperms) and mammals stretches back over 200 million years. During this vast span of evolutionary time, the two kingdoms developed together in intricate interdependence. Mammals ate plants; plants responded by evolving fruits to attract animal seed-dispersers. This co-evolution wasn’t merely mechanical—it was biochemical.''

Stunnig connection between ancient wisdom and molecular biology. The exosome angle especially caught my attention - hadn't considered that plant-derived miRNAs could survive digestion and actively regulate mammalian gene expression. Makes me rethink the whole 'we're just extracting nutrients' framing. Tried pomegranate seed oil a few years back for unrelated reasons, makes sense now why it felt differnet than other supplements.
Intelligent design by our divine Creator. This was no random happening. I have been adding organic pomegranate juice concentrate to my beet juice every morning for years. I just recently cut the dose in half because the price doubled in a very short time. All of my supplements are increasing in price to the point I have to eliminate some. Darn it!

Another great extremely well-written and comprehensive article on pomegranate. I learn something from every article! Many thanks.

I have a similar concern. My concern is the sugar content in the juice and wondering if capsules are as effective!?
Beautifully written Sending gratitude and love.
Love your articles, Sayer!
